NAACP Bucks County Candidate Survey 2024

The NAACP Bucks County is one of 2200+ chapters of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), the oldest civil rights organization in the nation. The Bucks County chapter has been in existence since 1951. The NAACP Bucks County Political Action Subcommittee seeks to secure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights in order to eliminate race-based discrimination and ensure the health and well-being of all persons. We are also a source for anti-racism training and social justice resources. We are a non-partisan organization seeking to help inform voters and working closely with aligned organizations dedicated to social and racial justice.

State representatives make decisions that impact all our lives, by passing bills on public policy matters, setting levels for state spending, raising and lowering taxes. It is vital that voters truly understand what candidates stand for. This can be extremely challenging because:

  • Social media/the internet can present the public with a highly filtered version of candidates.

  • Some candidates have never held elected office before, making it difficult to predict the way they will vote.

  • Many voters do not have the time or resources to distinguish fact from disinformation.

We have asked all Bucks County State Representative candidates to help voters make informed decisions on their ballots by filling out this brief survey and allowing us to share their responses on our website. Regardless of political or party affiliation, these are critical issues that voters have on their minds, and we are eager to see where our candidates stand on them.

Sharing this information with voters is essential to our election process, and we are excited to help our State Representative candidates do so. The statements below required a response using the following scale:

  1. Strongly Agree

  2. Somewhat Agree

  3. Somewhat Disagree

  4. Strongly Disagree
