Join us for a free workshop designed to support both students, parents and advocates in fostering a more informed, respectful, and empowered community. *Parental permission is required for students in grade 5-8. Refreshments will be provided.

All attendees are required to register in advance.


Workshop Goals:

·          Awaken young minds to be leading conscious citizens aware of the law, their own rights, respectful of the rights of others, and aware of the strength of their own voice.

·          Promote educational advocacy for parents and advocates requiring assistance with educational policy and procedure.

·          Inform parents and advocates how to exercise their rights on issues of school discipline, to recognize hostile environments, navigate special education concerns, and raise bullying or harassment claims.

·          Provide tools and resources regarding the obligations of public (including charter) schools to ensure safe, inclusive, and welcoming environments where all students can succeed.


Breakout Sessions:


For Students:

Grades 5-8: Sponsored by The Legal Kid Foundation

*Parental permission is required for students in grade 5-8.

Students will learn how to:

  • Apply the Rule of Law and the Constitution to protect their rights.

  • Become conscious citizens and respect the rights of others.

  • Recognize the strength of their own voice while safeguarding their mental health.

Grades 9-12:

High school students (grades 9-12) are invited to participate in the Educational Law Center-PA Workshop alongside parents and advocates.


For Parents, Advocates, and High School Students (Grades 9-12):

This workshop, presented by the Education Law Center-PA, provides:

  • Tools to strengthen education knowledge and advocacy skills.

  • Guidance on proper channels, processes, and responsible parties to address concerns.

  • Insights on recognizing and challenging potential rights violations.


Empower yourself and your children with the knowledge to succeed in school.
