About the Event
Juneteenth, celebrated on June 19th, marks the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas were informed of their freedom—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. This powerful day honors Black resilience, liberation, and the ongoing fight for justice and equality. It’s a time for reflection, celebration, and community unity.
