Paul Miller’s Law (SB37) was signed into legislation by Governor Josh Shapiro on June 5, 2024. The bill includes a provision against racial profiling that requires larger police departments, as well as the PA State Police, to collect and publicly report data on traffic stops, including a driver’s race. Much of the language of this provision (section 7) was derived from the Bucks County NAACP Reimagining Public Safety's (RIPS) report, which identified racial disparities in policing.
