Bucks County, PA — February 21, 2026

The NAACP Bucks County Branch is aware of the arrests of students and adults that occurred in Quakertown on February 20, 2026, during a student-led protest against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). We are also aware of the video currently circulating publicly involving Quakertown High School students and the Quakertown Chief of Police.

Our Branch has received a formal complaint regarding this incident and is currently reviewing the matter. We approach this situation with both concern and care, particularly given that youth were involved. We unequivocally support the constitutional right to peaceful protest, and we also acknowledge the responsibility to maintain public safety. These principles must coexist. We are closely examining questions surrounding the use of force and whether appropriate safeguards were followed when interacting with minors.

“The right to peaceful protest is fundamental in a democracy,” said Adrienne King, President NAACP Bucks County. “At the same time, any use of force—especially when youth are involved—demands careful scrutiny. Our focus is on ensuring that the facts are fully and fairly examined.”

We understand that several students remain in custody. The well-being and due process rights of those detained are of significant concern to our community. We expect a full, transparent, and impartial review of the facts and circumstances surrounding these arrests.

The NAACP Bucks County Branch will continue to monitor this situation closely. We encourage anyone with relevant information regarding this matter to contact the Bucks County Detectives to assist in ensuring a thorough review at (215) 348-6354.

We remain committed to supporting the rights, safety, and dignity of all members of our community.
